We had our first wedding of 2019 at the beginning of April and now wedding season is well underway. Every weekend is now full of weddings, consultations, photoshoots and open days; and we can’t wait! We have a few wedding consultations booked this Easter weekend with some ‘not-your-average’ couples to discuss how we can assist them in making their big day a little bit different!

This week on the blog we’re featuring the relaxed and quirky Yoghurt Rooms in East Grinstead. This unique venue is a great blank canvas for you and your partner if you are looking to create your own DIY dream.  For the open day next weekend, we will be dressing the venue in a gorgeous laid-back boho style (think pampas grass and soft tones – bang on trend!)

The Barn
If you’re looking for an authentic, laid-back barn, this could be the perfect venue for you.

Michelle and Jeremy asked us to install a ceiling canopy drape with fairy lights which looked stunning in the daylight as well as adding a soft glow as the party continued into the evening.

The barn is licensed and therefore ideal for couples wishing to legally marry onsite. Marry in front of the inglenook fireplace or in front of one of the large barn doors for a dramatic and memorable ceremony.

Outside Ceremony

If you’ve always dreamt of an outside wedding, although not legal, there are various spots onsite that would be perfect for your ‘I-Do’s’. Choose to marry outside in front of the barn doors, ahead of the beautiful lake, on one of their many open fields or in the wooded area where you will also find a gorgeous boho yurt amongst the trees.

One of our bride’s dads made this beautiful alter for the happy couple to have as a backdrop for their woodland ceremony. If you’d like to recreate this look, why not use our Silver Birch Wedding Arch adorned with flowers and foliage.

Guests relaxed on hay bales while the sun shone. They watched James and Maryanne’s beautiful ceremony while surrounded by nature in the woodland area.

Space for Marquee

To the side of the barn there is the opportunity to add on a marquee or structure which is perfect for extending the party outside.

How to style Yoghurt Rooms

There are endless choices for styling this gorgeous venue. It provides you with the opportunity to let your mind run wild or allow us to bring to life your Pinterest dreams.

Fill the venue with lanterns to create a beautiful and dramatic look for your photographs. Maryanne and James chose coral, peach and lace lanterns from us to bring the barn to life.

If using a dramatic ceiling installation, opt for softer décor on the table to balance the two out.

Drape the barn doors to give them a soft look which will gently float in the wind if you’re lucky enough to have the doors open for your ceremony. If you are converting the barn from a ceremony set-up to your wedding breakfast then why not ask us to put a draping wall in the venue to hide the tables, chairs, table décor and crockery. We also offer the service of a changeover after the ceremony – being stylists, you’ll be safe in the knowledge it will be gorgeous when you walk back in from your reception drinks!

Our props can transform any venue, but some props look like they were made for specific venues and that is how we feel about our light up metal BAR letters at the Yoghurt Rooms. They just fab suspended above the bar in the barn.

The venue particularly suits a laid-back, rustic style. Use rustic tables for your wedding breakfast and buffet tables.

Opt for a caterer such as Boxed Weddings to serve your food, as well as creating a stunning centrepiece for your wedding breakfast.

Accommodation

 The Granary

The Granary is lovely onsite accommodation opposite the barn which is perfect for the bridal party to use to beautify themselves on the morning of the wedding. It comfortably sleeps 10 people. The Granary also boasts a lovely roof terrace which is perfect for enjoying a last glass of fizz before you wed.

Yurts

There are three traditional Mongolian Yurts onsite which are included in the price of your barn and farm hire. They each come with woodburning stoves to keep you cosy on the chilliest of evenings.

Honeymoon Yurt

Choose to stay amongst nature in one of their onsite traditional Mongolian yurts for your first night as a married couple.

Camping or Glamping

There’s nothing better as a guest at a wedding than not having to worry about carriages at the end of the night. Give your guests the opportunity of either camping or glamping on site. It allows your guests to indulge in the full ‘festival feel’ and perhaps even share a BBQ breakfast with you in the morning. Our local recommendation for your glamping tents is Beneath the Canopy.

The little extras

Candles are permitted which in our opinion is always a bonus to have real candlelight to create that romantic glow.

You are allowed confetti onsite which is good to know if you’re hoping to get a classic and fun confetti shot. The confetti must be real petal’s as it is a working farm.

The venue oozes relaxation and is ideal for creating a sense of fun. Hire our wooden game set to ensure that everyone is entertained from the young to the old.

There is a rustic swing on site which is perfect for a romantic couple shot.

We hope this has inspired you to come and check out the venue on their open day.

Happy Easter everyone – have a lovely weekend with family and friends and we hope to see some of you at the Wedding Fayre next weekend!
