Featured Venue – Muntham House School

Summer is obviously our busiest time of year – but with Wedding Showcases in abundance and numerous wedding consultations with our lovely couples we are keeping ourselves nice and busy through these ‘quieter’ (eye-roll as we’re never quiet!) months.

Our next wedding showcase will be at the stunning Muntham House School on 30th March between 11am and 3pm so would love to see you there. This week, we want to share with you what makes this Victorian manor house steeped in history so special as a venue for your wedding day.

The key details
Grand Entrance Hall ceremony: 40 guests seated – plus additional standing space
Evening Reception: up to 300 guests

The Venue
Muntham House is a Victorian manor house that, during the week, is home to a boarding school for boys with special education needs – something that is very close to our hearts. During weekends and in school holidays the house is transformed into a fantastic wedding venue with all proceeds being invested back into the school to help ensure a better future for their pupils. How incredible to know that you are making a difference to a young child’s future while celebrating your special day.

The House
The Grand Entrance Hall is licensed to host civil ceremonies so if your desire is to have a legal wedding onsite then this is possible. The hall is oak-panelled with large Gothic-style windows, seating up to 40 guests for a ceremony with additional standing space available in the Minstrels’ Gallery above which overlooks the hall. Alternatively, the gallery leads onto the grand staircase making it perfect for the Bride to make her ‘grand’ entrance down!

The elegant staircase also provides a gorgeous setting for romantic pictures of the newlywed couple.

Next to the hall is the Conference Room, a great space for an intimate wedding breakfast or it can be used as a preparation area for the bride and her bridal party.

The Grounds
The grounds boast more than 20 acres of beautiful park and woodland creating a stunning backdrop for your day.

There is a long sweeping driveway which provides an impressive approach to the venue with a large area of flat lawn to place your tipi if you choose to have one.

Tipi Wedding
Our wonderful friends at Beautiful World Tents are the Tipi suppliers for Muntham House and their tipis look incredible in this stunning setting.

How to Style the Venue
The grand entrance hall would benefit from grand and opulent decorations to match and the sweeping staircase is perfect for a stunning foliage sweeping staircase installation (like the one below we created at Penton Park…)

The beauty of a venue like this, whether using the house or a tipi is that you have an almost blank canvas in which to style as you wish! The Grand Entrance Hall or one of Beautiful World Tent’s tipis are fantastic spaces with the flexibility to personalise the space to your individual taste. Get in touch with us our pop along to the wedding showcase to be inspired with how to decorate either space!
