Our Wedding Warehouse, Sussex was a real hive of activity and learning yesterday as we opened our doors to eager wedding suppliers looking to improve their company and personal branding. We ran the event in association with Margot’s wedding, and it was a complete sellout!
After a short bit of networking to find out who everyone was and where they came from (and get that all important first caffeine fix of the day) we dived straight into the learning..
First up was Anna Pumer, Wedding/Commercial Photographer talking to us about how to inject personality into our brands. It’s so important to make your brand a reflection of you, after all, people buy from people and this is so true within the wedding industry. As a wedding supplier you are going to be part of a “once in a lifetime” day for your couples and they need to know that you are going to fit with their vision of their big day. Anna shared some great tips on how to bring out your personality and to dump the corporate speak to help stand out amongst a sea of wedding suppliers.
Then we had Siobhan Young from wellstyled.co.uk who talked about our own personal branding, after all when we meet with potential new couples we are the brand. It was fascinating to understand why some colours suit some people and not others and to be retold the importance of first impressions!
During the break, Anna did some headshots of everybody which I can’t wait to see, something natural, some with props and then we had a fabulous lunch with loads of tasty sarnies and quiche followed by a heap of naughty cakes supplied by the lovely Emma At The Coach House Cafe!
Refuelled we settled down with Sarah Willoughby of The Marketing Boutique to understand what we should be doing with our websites to try and get them higher up the list on Google. Looking at the structure of our sites, not just the appearance and some great tips on how we can get our site noticed more locally in the future.
All in all a great morning’s work and some really useful information to take away. We hope everyone enjoyed their time at the Wedding Warehouse, and if you would like to come to one of our workshops in the future, please sign-up to our newsletter (type supplier in the wedding date box). If you missed out on this workshop and would like to attend in the future, we will be re-runnning it, so drop us an email and we’ll add you to the waiting list!
